As an Associate Quality Assurance Engineer, you will collaborate closely with our senior team members to improve the quality of our products and deliver value on our client projects through exploratory and automated testing. This is a remote position that gives you the chance to learn and grow in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- At first, you will work with a skilled QA engineer on small to medium-sized tasks. During this phase, you will receive feedback and guidance to help you understand the responsibilities of a QA engineer.
- You will be responsible for overseeing all phases of the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), including:
- Requirement Analysis & Planning: Analyze testing requirements, assist in creating test plans, and develop detailed test cases/scripts based on user stories.
- Test Execution & Defect Management: Set up test environments, execute functional, UI, and automated tests, report and track defects, and collaborate with developers for resolution.
- Closure & Documentation: Compile test results, participate in retrospectives, and own end-user documentation to ensure ease of application usage.
- You will actively participate in sprint ceremonies and are expected to communicate any blockers you face.
- You will mainly work on WordPress-based websites and web applications, ensuring the quality of both the backend and frontend.
Must Haves
- Strong Testing Fundamentals: Proficiency in functional, UI, and API testing concepts, with hands-on experience in web-based applications and test management tools.
- Basic Automation Skills: Ability to automate simple test cases (e.g., form validation) using frameworks or tools, alongside familiarity with version control systems like Git/GitHub.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of HTML/CSS, JavaScript basics, SQL for database queries, browser DevTools, and command-line usage for testing and debugging.
- Analytical & Communication Skills: Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and excellent written, verbal, and listening communication in English.
- Adaptability & Growth Mindset: Openness to feedback, commitment to continuous learning, and the ability to adapt to changing situations.
Good to Have
- Familiarity with Agile development methodology and corresponding testing practices is a plus.
- Familiarity with the WordPress interface is a plus.
- Hands-on experience implementing automated tests with either JavaScript or Python will be preferred over Java.
